Framer | Faster CMS Item Creation Improves Content Workflows
Framer updated its CMS on July 14, 2026, with a faster way to create collection items directly from the table. The release also expands Agent support, adds collection search and date filtering, improves formatted text editing, and introduces several controls that can make content-heavy website projects easier to manage.
Framer makes repetitive CMS editing feel more direct
Managing a website often involves adding many small records rather than writing one long page. Categories, tags, labels, team members, locations, and similar entries may contain only a few fields, but opening a separate creation flow for each item can slow down the publishing process.
Framer now places an empty row at the bottom of every CMS collection. Editors can focus the row, complete one or more fields, and press Return to create the item and move immediately to the next entry. This turns the collection table into a faster workspace for structured content that needs to be entered in sequence.
Quick rows can simplify content setup for new websites
The new row is especially useful during the early stages of a CMS project. A designer preparing a directory, blog, portfolio, documentation site, or product catalog can create the supporting categories and labels without repeatedly leaving the collection view.
Because only one or more fields are required before submitting the row, editors can begin with the essential information and return to complete more detailed fields later. The workflow is also useful when a collection needs several short entries that share the same simple structure.
Agent gains more awareness of CMS collections
Framer has expanded how its Agent works with CMS content. Collection rows can be added as context, collections can be selected through the Select tool, and the Agent can work with field dividers as well as previous and next collection pages.
The update also improves single-cell selection and editing, duplication of synced collections, and awareness of selected rows and draft statuses. Better handling of required slugs and clearer status highlighting should help the Agent make changes without losing important information about how an item will be published.
Search, filtering, and bulk controls improve maintenance
Editors can now search collections and filter items by date fields, which can make larger archives easier to navigate. Multiple items can be deleted with the Delete key, while fields that are already in use can be force deleted when a project genuinely needs a structural change.
Formatted text also receives several refinements, including toolbar tooltips, better link selection, and improvements to the / menu. Framer has fixed issues involving formatted text components, image paste undo actions, code block fonts, embedded scrollbars, links, CSV exports containing <video> tags, and the previously non-sticky Fields header.

This update is less about introducing a new visual design tool and more about removing friction after a site structure has been designed. A CMS becomes more useful when editors can maintain it without navigating through unnecessary dialogs for every small change.
For template creators, the Agent improvements are equally important. AI-assisted editing needs reliable awareness of rows, slugs, draft states, and collection structure before it can become a dependable part of a real publishing workflow.
We would still review collection fields carefully before deleting or restructuring them, especially on a published website. Used with that caution, the faster table workflow can make Framer templates easier to populate, test, and hand over to clients or content teams.
